Edition 3
September 2002

IEC National Offices moved to a newly constructed building just outside Washington D.C. in Alexandria, VA.. Anyone wishing to see the new IEC National facility but unable to travel to VA may stop by the RGV Chapter IEC in Harlingen, Texas and view the first video release "IEC News Winter 2002" video, where a tour of IEC National Offices is provided by the IEC Executive Vice President, Bill Mathison. A new second release "IEC News Summer 2002" is now available for viewing.
There are 77 IEC Chapters across the United States affiliated with IEC National. Apprentices moving from their RGV home area to a new location may transfer their OJT work hours and classroom credits to the nearest IEC Chapter if employment is continued with an IEC Member Contractor.

All IEC Chapters offer and provide numerous services to "open or merit shop" electrical contractors and their employees within their Chapter coverage area. The RGV Chapter's area begins in Mission, then eastward through McAllen, Edinburg, Pharr, San Juan, Alamo, Welaco, Mercedes, La Feria, Harlingen, San Benito, Brownsville, South Padre Island and northward  past Raymondville. Contractors pay dues as Members of IEC National based on quantity of active field employees. Local chapter dues are determined by the quantity of employees enrolled in the Apprenticeship Program. Members may join more than one Chapter if they have Branch Offices in different areas. All Members receive the IEC "Insight Magazine", IEC National Directory, Safety Program Materials, educational training programs on Employee Planning, Tool Box Talks, networking at Conferences, an invitation to attend the IEC Annual National Convention, and opportunity to participate in the Apprenticeship Training Program.
