The RGV Chapter was formed more than 38 years ago in the early 1960's. Known in those days as the "Association of Independent Electrical Contractors of America - Rio Grand Valley Chapter" when the National IEC Organization was founded. Years later, the words Association and America was dropped. Our Chapter was Incorporated as a non-profit, tax emempt organization in the early 1980's in Texas as the Rio Grande Valley Chapter of Independent Electrical Contractors Incorporated.(RGV Chapter - IEC Inc.) A few years ago a Texas State IEC organization was formed to help represent the many Texas IEC Chapters at Legislative meetings and to provide common networking channels within Texas. The RGV Chapter facilites provides class rooms, lab/shops, snack/break area, offices and a Board of Directors meeting room in downtown Harlingen. Easy student access to the VTC Bus Depot and small cafes nearby. A large quantity of free public parking is available at all times. |
